When I f*ck up parenting and feel really guilty and ashamed, this is the process I use to metabolize those feelings and fail forward.

This process is trauma-healing and combines experiential learning principles with trauma-informed practices and with the relational skill of regard.

Repairing with yourself before (or at the very least in addition to) repairing with your child is important. And going through this 2-part process will help make your repair with your kid deeper, more genuine, more generous and more compassionate towards you both.

When we don’t take the time to reflect and process on what happened, parenting patterns tend to repeat, gain in emotional charge and shame, instead of evolve and heal.
