WORKSHOP Opulence of the Ordinary: Secrets of the 6th House
Everybody spends time in 6th house spaces. In fact, most of us spend most of our lives there.
6th house is the house of the work environment, of our daily rounds, of our daily chores, obligations, and routines.
6th house is also the house of the things we caretake. That’s why our physical body and everything associated with maintaining it is 6th house purview. Fitness, diet, illness, hygiene. 6th house invites the reframe that we are ALL caretakers - and the first and foremost obligation we have is to maintain our own health and wellness. We are both the caretaker and the caretakee of our own bodies, hearts, and minds.
6th house situations and environments can quickly begin to feel unsatisfying, boring, repetitive, obligatory, and tedious, however.
Often, the labor of the 6th house goes unappreciated and unseen and quickly disappears under the endless refreshing and resetting of life. It can feel like pointless, thankless toil, Sisyphus pushing his boulder up the hill, or ants rebuilding an anthill, grain by grain.
